To our players, families, and fans —
Rockford FC is entering a new chapter, and I wanted to share what's changing and why.
When I think back to where this club started — a group of people with a vision and a love for this city — I'm proud of what we've built. We started in 2019 and have competed at the highest levels of amateur soccer in the region. But over the past year, something bigger started to take shape, and our brand needed to reflect that.
Today, I'm excited to introduce the new Rockford FC — a new crest, a new identity, and a renewed mission.
This rebrand was a team effort. Our staff, coaches, and players all had a voice in it. I want to give a special acknowledgment to Samir Romero, our former club president, whose dedication helped lay the foundation for everything we're building on now.
The new crest represents who we are becoming — an organization with a senior team, a competitive program, and now, an academy.
Earlier this year, we welcomed the Winnebago Storm into the Rockford FC family. For those who know the Storm, you know the heart behind that club. We didn't want to absorb them — we wanted to honor them. The Rockford FC Academy, which the Storm now helps form, carries that legacy forward. Boys and girls across the greater Rockford area now have a home, a pathway, and a club invested in their development.
Our mission has always been to develop well-rounded athletes and good humans. That hasn't changed. What has changed is our reach. We are no longer just a club — we're an organization that meets young players where they are, walks with them as they grow, and connects them to a senior program that shows them what's possible.
"Rockford Born. Rockford Raised. Rockford Proud."
This rebrand was a big step. But when I look at the staff around me — Christian, Kimba, Samantha, Austin, and the rest of the team — I know we have the right people in place. And when I look at the families and players who have chosen to be part of this club, I'm reminded why we do this.
Thank you for believing in us, for wearing the crest, and for showing up — early morning practices and cold Illinois evenings included.
Keep your eyes open. 2026 is going to be a great year at every level.
